A comparative study on microstructure and properties of traditional laser cladding and high-speed laser cladding of Ni45 alloy coatings

High-speed laser cladding technology can significantly improve the efficiency of coating preparation and effectively widen application range cladding. In this study, Ni45 powders were deposited on steel substrate by traditional low speed high-speed process, respectively. The efficiency, surface forming, cross-sectional microstructure, microhardness, wear corrosion resistance properties cladded alloy coatings compared. It be seen that thickness was much thinner than coating. Compared with cladding, could achieve a 76.86 m/min 156.79 cm2/min. microstructure two kinds shows same growth law, but in smaller denser, columnar crystal interval narrower, only about 6 μm. is found cooling rate as increased, became higher higher. cross-section microhardness relatively uniform 337 HV0.2, while increased to 543 HV0.2. addition, better coatings.
